Inflation is on the rise, and it is time to take action! There have been strong positive signs across all industries, indicating an increase in the average service price to better reflect industry standards.

What does this mean?

Back in 2021, The Fair Work Commission announced a series of instalment increases to the weekend penalty rates for casual employees under the Hair and Beauty Award. These increases were implemented to take effect over a period of 2 years, from January 2022 to December 2023.

This increase in penalty rates is a great benefit to employees, helping them keep up with the rising costs of living. However, what about the salon’s bottom line? This leads us to increase service costs. If you haven’t found the courage to increase your prices, now is the time!

Why?

You can retain staff through wage growth, turn a higher profit and are better able to upkeep the service standards your clients expect when they visit. This includes upholding your green practices by implementing the Sustainable Salons program into your business.
