A Guide To Sustainability
In The Beauty Salon – Juve, Skincare Studio + Medi Spa
Recycling in the beauty industry is essential for a number of reasons. Not only does it help to reduce waste, but it also helps to conserve natural resources and protect the environment.
Recycling in the beauty industry is essential for a number of reasons. Not only does it help to reduce waste, but it also helps to conserve natural resources and protect the environment. In addition, recycling can also benefit businesses by reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
One of the major ways that beauty salons can reduce waste is by using reusable products and tools. This can include items like lash and brow combs, waxing mats, and microfibre facial towels which can all be washed and reused rather than discarded after a single use. Not only is this more environmentally friendly, but it can also help to save money for the salon in the long run.
Another effective way to reduce waste in the beauty industry is by using sustainable products. These are products that are made from natural or recycled materials, and which have a minimal impact on the environment. Many beauty brands are now offering sustainable options, such as skincare and nail polish made from plant-based ingredients, all packaged up in recycled packaging. By using these products, salons can help to reduce their environmental impact and support the use of sustainable materials.
Sustainable Salons is helping to promote recycling and sustainability in the beauty industry by partnering with salons and reducing their valuable resources for recycling or turning them into closed-loop products which can be used again and again, such as plant pots. This supports the environment and gives back to the community.
Sustainable Salons recently signed up Juve, Skincare Studio + Medi Spa in Gisborne, New Zealand. Juve had been looking for a way to assist the beauty industry as a whole while also supporting people who need a helping hand. They found the Sustainable Salons program through an editorial, where the concept, business model, community involvement and position in the circular economy appealed to them and their salon.
The issue of salon waste that goes into landfills is resolved by repurposing it into another product. The profits support the employment of differently-abled people, and Kiwi Harvest feeds hungry communities.
They are the first salon in Tairāwhiti to join the Sustainable Salons program where they recycle so many amazing materials such as sharps, paper from product packaging, plastics, glass skincare bottles and more.
Through the program, salons can divert their waste away from landfills and instead have it collected and processed by Sustainable Salons. The collected materials are then turned into new products such as coasters, dog leads, hairdressing foil, and even furniture. This not only helps to reduce waste and conserve natural resources, but it also helps to support the environment and give back to the community.
In addition to helping to reduce waste and support the environment, participating in the Sustainable Salons program can also provide benefits from a business perspective. Clients at Juve appreciate that their salon is community-minded and progressive. Juve continually seeks partnerships with honest and effective businesses, and many clients want to support businesses with these values, ones that align with companies committed to positive environmental and social practices.
Sustainability is not just about being ‘green’; it encompasses the economy, humanity, society, and the environment. The Juve team is excited to support these four areas and make a meaningful contribution to lasting positive change. We have always wanted to provide the best products, services and practices for our team and clients, and the Sustainable Salons partnership reflects our commitment.
By recycling and using sustainable products, salons can save money on waste disposal costs and increase their efficiency. In addition, by promoting their commitment to sustainability, salons can attract eco-conscious customers and build a positive reputation in the community.
To sum it up, recycling in the beauty industry is important for a number of reasons. By using reusable products and tools, and choosing sustainable products, beauty salons can significantly reduce their waste and environmental impact. Sustainable Salons is helping make this process even easier by providing a convenient and effective way for salons to recycle and support the environment. By participating in the program, salons can not only do their part to protect the environment but also save money and build a positive reputation in the community.
