Whether your salon is in hibernation, operating in ‘power saver mode’ or full steam ahead, you may be wondering how you can stay engaged with your clients during this strange time. How do you keep them connected to your salon brand? What can you say to grab their Corona-focussed attention right now?
We’ve compiled 5 ideas we’ve seen our inventive network of salons already put into practice… you might just find a gem here that’s the perfect fit for your brand.
Salon Gift Vouchers
The Season of Giving (back to small business)! Promote salon gift vouchers to your clients to purchase for friends, family or themselves. When the salon reopens, clients can redeem the vouchers for a pampering service or salon products. You can take this one step further and encourage pre-bookings, too!
#ThrowbackThursday
It’s time to throw back to those glam pre-iso hairdos! Start sharing throwbacks of your favourite hairstyles on your salon socials, using the hashtags #supportsmallbusiness and #supportyourlocalsalon. At the same time, encourage your clients to share the most-loved cuts, colours and styles they’ve received from the salon with a pledge to support your salon the minute it reopens.
The Guru
Bring out the hair or beauty guru in you! Ward off the home hair and beauty fails by giving your clients some tips and tricks to keep their hair, skin, lashes and brows salon-fresh. Hold a Facebook/Instagram Live session responding to your clients’ burning hair and beauty questions, or you could create video tutorials for your Stories or eDMs with your hot tips to help your client feel (and look) good in iso!
#supportsmallbusiness Giveaway
Run a #supportsmallbusiness giveaway on your socials to engage with your clients and promote the salon to potential clients. Set up a social media comp, asking your clients to like, tag friends and share your post for the chance to win. The prize could be a salon voucher or perhaps a hamper with your can’t-live-without products from your existing salon stock.
Keeping up with the Salon
Ask your staff members to film a short video updating clients on an activity they’ve been doing in isolation. These videos can be shared separately on your social stories, or combined into a large montage of your salon staff’s comings-and- goings during the salon closure. Encourage your clients to do the same, then share it with your whole network!
